Seiken No Ken - Holy Sword Sword
A downloadable game for Windows
Seiken No Ken, or "Holy Sword Sword" is an entry into the Bournemouth University Game Jam. The theme of this Jam was "Japan". This game was created in under 48 hours, entirely from scratch (aside from the music) by me.
Music; "8-Bit Go! - Heatly Bros" [Royalty Free]

This is a 2D Action Platformer where you play as a nameless Samurai warrior in his attempt to escape his mysterious isolation inside a remote cave.
Armed with nothing but a sword and your own reflexes; you must climb out of the cave system and make your way to the outside world.
The game's art style is a unique blend between Manga and Pixel Art; with beautiful grayscale animations of extreme polish and fluidity.
The game's dialogue was intentionally written to reflect the poor spelling and grammar found in old Japanese NES and SNES video games, of which the gameplay systems themselves are directly inspired.

Can you escape the cave and find all the dialogue scenes?
